Bathroom Renovation in Gatineau — Residential General Contractor

A bathroom renovation is above all a matter of choices: tile, flooring, vanity, shower enclosure, wall finishes, lighting placement and how the room is laid out around them. We help you refine those decisions so the finished bathroom fits your home, your daily routine and your budget.

Whether the goal is a clean contemporary look or something warmer and more textured, we adapt materials and finishes to the residential context of your property in Gatineau, Aylmer, Hull or elsewhere in the Outaouais — with a focus on durability and careful workmanship.

As a general contractor, we plan the sequence of the work, organize the site and keep the project moving forward through each stage of the bathroom renovation. You have a single point of contact from the first meeting to the delivery, which keeps decisions clear and avoids the back-and-forth of managing a renovation yourself.

Please note that plumbing and electrical work are not services sold directly by Construction Frank-y-Rénove. Our commitment to you covers the residential renovation and construction work that falls within our scope as a general contractor. This covers demolition, framing, substrate preparation, tile and flooring installation, wall finishes, vanity and fixture mounting, shower enclosure assembly, painting and final detailing for residential bathrooms.

Keeping this scope clear protects the quality of the work and keeps your bathroom renovation in Gatineau on track from demolition to final walkthrough.

Every bathroom renovation in Gatineau that we show is a real job, photographed while the room was open and again once it was done. A few things stand out across the seven projects on our projects page.

• Rénovation complète – Salle de bain principale (French project page): A primary bathroom with a large-format tiled shower, a double vanity with a tall storage column and a freestanding tub.
• Rénovation complète de salle de bain (French project page): A tub-and-shower wall waterproofed before tiling, then finished with vertical white tile, a black-trimmed niche and black fixtures.
• Rénovation de salle de bain contemporaine (French project page): A floor levelled before the tile went down, a beige tiled tub surround with a niche, and a dark wood vanity.
• Salle de bain réinventée (French project page): Moisture-resistant drywall first, then a white tiled shower behind a black-framed glass door.

The other three show the same habit of opening the room down to what needs fixing: one taken back to the studs before a corner shower and a new tile floor, one opened to the floor joists, and one with a walk-in shower in wood-look tile and a floating vanity.

It depends on the work. Replacing finishes is not the same as moving walls or changing the layout of the room. The City of Gatineau issues building permits for the renovation or modification of a residential main building, and the request is made online at gatineau.ca/permis.

When a permit is needed for a renovation, the City's list includes the certificate of location, architectural plans of the work, a layout of the interior spaces showing what each room is used for and its size, an estimate of the total cost of the work and photos of the building's facades. It may request more once the file is under review. Its online assistant, URBAIN, helps check whether a permit is required at all. We look at the scope of your bathroom project during the first visit and tell you what applies before the work is scheduled.

Plumbing and electrical work are handled by their own licensed trades and are not services we sell. We keep that clear from the start, so your quote covers exactly the general contracting work we carry out.
